Printing Labels for a Purchase Order

Skumo can print product labels directly from a Purchase Order — useful when stock arrives without labels, or when you want to re-label items with your own barcodes and prices.

Accessing Label Printing

Labels can be printed from any PO in Sent, Partial, or Received status.

Open the PO and click Print Labels.

Pre-Filled Quantities

When you open the label print screen, the quantity for each item is pre-filled based on the current status of the PO:

PO Status Pre-filled quantity
Sent The ordered quantity for each item
Partial The received quantity for each item
Received The received quantity for each item

This means that for a Sent PO (where nothing has arrived yet), quantities default to what you ordered — convenient if you want to pre-print labels ready for the delivery. For a Partial or Received PO, quantities default to what's actually come in.

You can adjust any quantity on the print screen before printing, and set any item to zero to exclude it from the print run.

Label Options

Show price

Toggle Include price to print the retail price on each label. This is off by default but can be turned on for this print run, or set to on by default in Settings → Label Printing.

Label size

The label size is set in Settings → Label Printing. Common sizes are pre-set (89×36mm, 62×29mm, 102×57mm, 50×25mm) or you can enter a custom size. A scaled preview in Settings shows how your label will look at the chosen size.

Barcode type

Skumo supports several barcode formats:

Type When to use
Auto-detect (default) Skumo picks the right format automatically based on the barcode on the product
EAN-13 Standard 13-digit European barcodes
UPC-A Standard 12-digit US barcodes
Code 128 Alphanumeric barcodes, often used for SKUs
Code 39 Older alphanumeric format, widely supported

Auto-detect handles most cases correctly. Only change this if you need labels in a specific format for your label printer or scanning equipment.

Printing

On iPhone or iPad

Tap Print and Skumo will open a print preview in a new window optimised for AirPrint. Select your label printer from the printer list and print.

On desktop (Mac or Windows)

Click Download PDF to save a PDF of the labels. Open the PDF and print it using your label printer's software or your browser's print dialogue. Make sure to print at actual size (100%) with no scaling to ensure barcodes scan correctly.
