Receiving a Purchase Order Manually

When your goods arrive, you receive them in Skumo to move the stock from "incoming" to "available" in Shopify. Manual receiving lets you enter the quantities you've received for each item — useful when you're counting items by hand rather than scanning barcodes.

Opening the Receive Screen

From the Purchase Orders list, click on a Sent or Partial PO to open it.

Click Receive Stock.

Entering Received Quantities

The receive screen lists every item on the order. Each row shows:

  • Product — name and variant
  • Ordered — the quantity on the original order
  • Previously received — any quantities already received on earlier partial receipts
  • Receiving now — the quantity you're entering for this delivery

The Receiving now column is pre-filled with the outstanding quantity (ordered minus previously received), so if everything arrives in one delivery you can confirm without changing anything.

If only some items have arrived, just adjust the quantities for this delivery. Items with a quantity of zero will be skipped.

Completing the Receipt

Once you've entered your quantities, click Confirm Receipt.

Skumo will:

  1. Move the received quantities from incoming to available stock in Shopify
  2. Update the PO status:
    • If all items are now fully received, the PO moves to Received
    • If there are still outstanding items, the PO moves to (or stays at) Partial

Multi-location stores: Stock is moved into available inventory at the location assigned to the PO. If you need to receive the goods at a different location, change the delivery location before confirming — see Editing a Purchase Order.

Partially Received Orders

If a delivery arrives in stages, you can run through the receive process multiple times. Each time, Skumo records what was received in that batch and accumulates the totals. The PO will show as Partial until everything has been received.

Items Not Tracked in Shopify

If a product on the PO doesn't have inventory tracking enabled in Shopify, Skumo will still record the receipt in the PO, but the stock level in Shopify won't be updated for that item. A warning will appear listing any untracked items.
